Sorry to hear your having problems with your wii. You can connect the wii via wifi or wired with an adapter. Check out Nintendo's tutorial for instructions on how to do this: http://us.wii.com/connect/ You basically goto: Wii Options at the bottom left corner of your home screen, then Wii Settings, Click the right arrow to goto the next page, Click Internet, Click Connection Settings, Click Connection 1, Click Wireless Connection. Click Search for an Access Point. Click OK to view the found access points. Select the Access point for your wireless internet, enter your encryption key, click Ok and then OK again to save settings, and then OK again to test the connection. Once you have set up your wifi connection you can download the web browser channel from the wii shop channel for free. Then you can use the web browser channel to browse the web with the wii.
WPA and WPA2 are not supported by the DS Lite, only WEP and unencrypted wifi connections are. There is no known way at the moment to make the DS Lite support WPA of any form so your only three options are to go to WEP encryption, use no encryption (not recommended), or set up an adhoc connection on a computer with that is connected to your router that has internet connection sharing enabled.
If it is an original NDS, it may not support your network security, there's a big issue with that. The original Nintendo DS just doesn't support some WEP and any WPA, WPA-2, WPA2-PSK internet security.
You have to have WiFi connections setup for your DS Lite. While in game (or on the main menu of the game), select Nintendo WiFi settings. It will bring you to a menu with 3 connection options. Choose one that says "Ready" and select the Search option. Once you find a connection you want to use, it will perform a test to make sure it will connect. Once that is done, just back out and resume playing. Now anytime the game asks to connect to WiFi, it will have no problem.
The problem may be your security settings. The Wii and PSP can access WiFi no matter what the security settings are if you have the key, but the DS can't access highly encrypted WEP security. Double check your security settings and then re-input your code.
