SOURCE: I need to replace the power cord for my Bissell

Should be simple replacement. Once you have the correct replacement cord, just remove the cover, this only involves removing screws, trace the power cord to where is is connected. Once you have found it either write down where each color wire goes or undo one wire at a time and replace with new one. Should be simple fix...just take your time.

Bissell vacuum shut off and will not turn on again

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

If your vacuum doesn't turn on, make sure that plug is fully inserted into a fully functional electronic outlet. If it still not turning on after verifying this, it could be that the power switch is malfunctioning. You may need to replace the power switch by opening up the handle of your vacuum. I suggest referring to your manual on how to replace the power cord or contact Bissell for troubleshooting steps. 1-800-237-7691.

My dog ate the e cord ... how do i replace it?

Available replacement parts for your vacuum can be order online from this site:

http://canada.bissell.com/Products/p/pethaireraser/ak/replacementparts/Product.aspx

I don't see the power cord available but would recommend you contact the company through their Customer Support to see if a cord may be made availble; quite possible the cord for another model would be suitable.

Contact information can be found here: http://canada.bissell.com/Customer_Support.aspx

Dog chewed on the power cord, how do I replace it?

I would try to find a repair shop to replace it as bissell does not currently offer replacement power cords (atleast not on their website) if your power cord is only chewed in one place you could always just splice it back together and use some electrical tape. sorry I couldn't be of more help.

My Bissell vacuum cleaner won't turn on.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

One of the possible causes that your Bissell won't start is that power cord may not be firmly plugged in so you may need to check electrical plug. You may also want to check or replace the fuse or reset the breaker in case there is blown fuse or tripped breaker.

My dog chewed through the power cord (luckily unplugged). Are there replacement parts available and I can't seem to find out to detach the cord from the unit.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. There are replacement parts available for the replacement of the power cord and to check your owner’s manual to see the schematics of the replacement of the cord. You can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or you can call cust serv @ Bissell @ the phone # listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Replace power cord on Bissell vacuum model 3596

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Usually the Bissell needs a genuine cord because there is a special grommet or cord protector that goes into the bottom of the Bissell of the machine or sometimes you can use a replacement cord and then also use a replacement cord protector as well to replace the cord. If you have a problem then contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or contact the Bissell factory cust service to get an owner’s manual for the Bissell. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
