SOURCE: Ice builds up inside packages in freezer.

This is the moisture coming out of the food. It is what causes freezer burn.

The problem is made worse in frost free models by the defrost cylce. Best way to slow it down is to use vacuum bags or freezer bags. Also above 0 F food deterioates faster and below it gets freezer burn and the moisture problem faster.

Frost building up in rear grates of undercounter 24 inch wine refrigerator. model VBCI1240GRSS.just noticed. keep temp at 48 degrees live in south Carolina. unit is less than 2 years old.

temp too cold and door seal not effective are 2 reason for this
48 F is too cold for wines (8.8 C) and continually opening and closing of the door allows humidity into the cabinet that results in frost and ice

Why is our EuroCave DUO wine cooler model D264 freezing 1/4 inch of ice on back wall inside cooler?

Most cases of ice build up can be traced to seals that leak humid air into the cooler. Check the door seal carefully using a fresh $1 bill. The bill should not pull out easily when the door is closed. If the unit has a self defrost feature it it is not coming on. Ice buildup inside a wine cooler is very rare. The cooler box should not reach 32deg in normal operation. Does the unit seem to run continuously?
