You didn't post the Make, Model of laptop or the OS you are using so I have no idea what solution to suggest. I have to assume your machine has decent hardware specs and the OS is Windows 7. Their may be to many processes running overloading the Processor/Memory. Start by cleaning and disabling unnecessary startup programs. A generic solution/suggestion is : http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10things/10-ways-to-speed-up-windows-7/3332 Use these two Freeware programs to Clean up your machine, 1, CCLEANER at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ Run the cleaner to remove the junk from your machine, in the TOOLS section, STARTUP section, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs, reboot. 2, MALWAREBYTES at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL scan, delete ALL results and reboot. ALSO, Open Control Panel, select Internet Options, select Programs tab, open Manage Add Ons, in Toolbars and Extentions, disable ALL toolbars and unnecessary Extentions, open Search Providers , select Google as default and remove all others. Run a Full Scan with your up-to-date Anti Virus Software. Run Windows Updates for ALL current updates.

Acer M670G can not booth up

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

Its not coming on

Hi,

Have you checked if the battery is fully charged ? if it does not boot that way, remove the battery and connect the power cord to wall outlet and check if it boots.

If it does, it could be a defective battery or you may need to charge it again and try using it. If it still does not booth, it could be defective battery and needs to be replaced.

Regards,
Ron

The best way to do this is using the Offline NT Password & Registry editor.
You can download it at the following link: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

This utility will enable you to reset the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your Windows NT/2k/XP/Vista etc system.
The link above includes some directions on how to use this utility.

Hi Ken

A BIOS update can resolve this issue and allow the battery to charge up to 100% in Windows. The BIOS update can be performed either before or after the symptom appears

Black Screen on laptop start up. Makes a slight noise after pushing start button but screen never changes from black and eventually the light on the power up key goes out. We checked the hard drive and...

Hello,

There seem to be a problem with the module of the laptop, that is why you are having a black screen through out the boothing process of the laptop.

The module is the chip that allows information from the main board reach the screen.

The hardwares would be working perfectly fine, but since the module is having problems, the screen will not light up, and the computer can go off after boothing.

Have the module checked and replaced and your laptop will be in good condition once again.

Good luck.

hope this will solve the issue

try plugging a standard pc keyboard into the ps2 slot ,if it has one, if not use a usb keyboard. That should tell you if the keyboard is malfunctioning. As for using the hard drive with no caddy it should be fine as long as you pad it it securely, to stop it being knocked about etc when moving the laptop. Also you will need to enter the bios and set ideo 0(the hard drive) to auto detect. As it is more than likely detecting the old hard drive in the bios settings not the new one?
