How do you turn on display in kenwood car stereo KDC-MP4036U? Have tried reset but still no display.

Is your illumination wire (usually orange) hooked up? If so may be a problem with faceplate or stereo itself.

Installing aftermarket Kenwood stereo on 1991 Subaru Legacy. The subaru stock wiring does not have a red ignition wire. Can i simply connect the kenwood ignition wire to the Accessory +12v (Yellow/red)?...

Hi, according to my source, there should be an accessory wire that is blue with a yellow stripe. If your is yellow/red, that's fine. You actually should prefer an accessory wire to an ignition wire as there may be less static on the accessory wire. Just make sure the wire does not have power when the key is off. Don't use the illumination wires--they are not needed for the aftermarket head unit and should be taped off.

I have a VRVD630 i cant watch dvds because i dont know were to hook up the orange reverse light wire and the parking brake wire

the parking brake wire just needs to go to a ground other than the ground for the deck and the orange reverse light wire you shouldn't have to worry about it if you turn on the deck and you still can't watch movies try hook it up to the illumination wire.

I do not know how to wire nenwood kdc-422 to a 94 buick century?

You should have a wire harness pigtail that comes with your kenwood.
you can also purchase a harness adapter plug/pigtail at most audio auto stereo shops to fit your car make and model.
Be sure to save the packaging because the plastic bag has the color/codes for the harness. This harness is designed to plug right into the factory plug inside the dash just like the stock radios do.
All you need to do is splice the kenwood cables to the adapter plug pigtail you purchase for your car.
match up each wire as described here:

Orange wire from car harness to stereo illumination where does it go????

This wire is for dimming of the display on your radio from your instrument panel in your vehicle. If your original wire harness in your vehicle does not have this wire, just tape it off and dont worry about it.

Wiring problems?

http://inform3.kenwoodusa.com/manuals/kdcmp238.pdf

There are no illumination wires on this deck, so the Orange and orange/wht are not used on the wiring harness. Orange wire is NOT for memory. Yellow wire is +12VDC Constant for memory.

If you hooked up the 12Vdc to the orange wire, your fuse for your dashlights have blown. Check your cars fuse panel for a blown fuse.

The orange wires are sending a signal out to radios with illumination circuts. You just sent a 12VDC signal upstream and it collided with the Cars signal and blew the fuse.

Tape off the orange wires, and all will be fine after changing the fuse.
