Question about Mitsubishi WS-65511 65" Rear Projection Television
All of a sudden my TV has a deep red hue on the screen and the picture is not well defined. I tried the convergence reset (to factory settings and a manual reset) but no change in the picture. Any suggestions? Thanks!
First u look for bad connections on the convergence ICs. These are large black ICs attached to a heatsink. They will have 15 pins or so. Resolder all of these pins and report back with your results.
Also Sounds like you have cold solder joints, or solder joints on the mainboard which have cracked over time due to thermal expansion and contraction of the circuit board.
Repair is to find and reflow the cracked joints. You may want to consider hiring the services of a reputable repair professional to deal with getting your set back into normal operating condition.
In the meantime, stop using that TV in its current condition! Continued use in that state could make the problem worse or create new headaches that may only allow for a more expensive repair bill.
