I have a uniden bearcat scanner and cant pick up my local police dept. I put the frequency in and still dont hear anything. I have a bc145xl 16 channel scanning radio and want to know if its compatible...

If you programmed the correct frequency, you should be getting reception. Check www.RadioReference.com to verify the frequency. Otherwise, you may be too far from the transmitter to receive signals. Try your scanner in other locations, check your antenna, and try receiving the PD on another scanner.

The MARCS - Ohio Multi-Agency Radio Communications system - is a Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink Trunking system that utilizes APCO-25 digital transmissions. Your BC145XL is not compatible with trunking or digital systems. In order to follow the MARCS you will need one of the following scanners:
GRE PSR-500, PSR-600
Radio Shack PRO-106, PRO-197, PRO-96, PRO-2096
Uniden BC250D, BC785D, BC296D, BC796D, BCD396T, BCD396T, BCD996T, BCD996XT, or the brand new HomePatrol-1

I cleared my scanner pro-82 now how do i program the channels back. the bank1 is blinking and is on channel 1. i do not have any scan codes for local fd/pd in the 78801 area zip code.

For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area (they're really NOT codes), visit:

www.RadioReference.com

To program known frequencies into your scanner,

1. Press PGM. PGM appears. Then enter the channel number (1-200) where you want to store a frequency, then press PGM again.
2. Use the number keys and DELAY/. to enter the frequency (including the decimal point) you want to store.
3. Press ENT to store the frequency into the channel.
Your scanner automatically rounds the entered frequency down to the closest valid frequency. For example, if you enter a frequency of 151.473, your scanner accepts it as 151.470.

Press DELAY/.if you want the scanner to pause 2 seconds on this channel before it proceeds to the next channel after a transmission ends. The scanner also stores this setting in the channel.

To program the next channel in sequence, press PGM and repeat Steps 2 and 3.

Codes to reprogram

Do you mean the frequencies to listen to, or how to program it. Radio Shack has the programming directions, but the frequencies are local to you. This is not a digital scanner nor a trunked scanner, in which case, if your local PD/FD switched to a trunked system or digital trunked system you will need a new scanner. You should be able to program in your local weather radio channel, like 162.550 to test the unit though.

Cant pick up anything

no your local pd decided to chance freq bands and go 800 mhz, some switch to digital radios to. in most part a pro 96 will do, but if they are in the rebanding area it will be no good. you might choose a hand scanner like a bcd 396xt or mobile bcd 996t, all of them will be in the $500 range http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Pro-96 http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Rebanding http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/BCD396XT http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/BCD996T

Whenever I push the orange fd/pd button it only searches through 32.00 to 46.00. Then when I push lockout it says FLO-FULL.

IT will only search the FD/PD codes range under the orange buttons. What you need to do is get a copy of your local frequencies and program them into your scanner, after that hit search.
