Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

HP Solutions Center, wrong icon on screen

I have 2 HP products: 1) HP 1510 (all in one= printer, copier, scanner)
2) HP desk jet 3845
Somehow the HP Solutions Center icon on my computer screen got changed from the 1510 to the desk jet, and I no longer am able access the comands for the scanner with the 1510.

Please tell me what I need to do to use my scanner.

    Thanks for responding. I had done what you suggested, but when I put a check mark by the all-in-one and then canceled that window with the litle x in the upper corner, the control pannel reverted back to the old pattern.

1.Please check in Printer n faxes whether it show both the printer HP 1500 series and HP Desk jet 3800 series.

2.If the printers are listed, in the solution center you will find two printers listed, by default it is set to Deskjet printer. Select HP 1510 printer to use the scanner feature.

Please respond after trying this.

    Are you able to acces the scanner via Solution center, if you disconnect the Deskjet from the computer?

I have a hp desk jet 3520 it wont print it keeps saying intall setup cartridges but i have them installed correctly.

Are these the ink cartridges that came with the unit?
Are you sure they're in the correct positions?
Possible that one of the chips is defective. Try replacing with a new cartridge.

I want to set up my acer chromebook so i can use my HP Desk jet 4480

your acer chrome book supports only USB 3.0 but this printer accepts only USB 2.0 so need to download hp printer scanner software and install it and the see what it append after run this software almost resolve your issue....

The Fax also works. just not the scanner.

Download and install the software for the Hp 6500 at If you haven't already, open HP Solutions Center settings, sey scanner settings.

Step two: Align the product through the print driverFollow these steps to manually align the product through the print driver.
  1. Open HP Solution Center.
    • Windows XP: Click Start , click All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
    • Windows Vista: Click the Windows icon (c01319360.gif ), click All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
  2. In HP Solution Center, click Settings , click Print Settings , and then click Printer Toolbox . The printer Toolbox opens.
  3. On the Device Services tab, click Align the Print Cartridges . The product prints a cartridge alignment page.
  4. Lift the scanner lid.
  5. Place the alignment page on the front-right corner of the scanner glass with the print side down.

I do not see an icon for the HPscanner on my desktop.

Open the control panel page. Click on Printers & faxes page. The list of printers will be displayed. Right click on your printer icon. On the displayed box go to 'send to'. Select desktop. You will have the printer icon on the desk top.

I can print but i don't see the icon to scan on my pc

HP's are so much fun because if you don't have the orignal CD, you get to download a huge file :-)

Typically, try this It's an XP menu for the solutions to an HP J4580. There's a software removal tool under utilities, and a complete set of drivers for both the printer and the scanner. The biggest file 253M is the complete Solutions Center drivers, but notice there are also 2 other files that update the Solutions Center and improve communications to the printer. You need all 3 files!

Now, just in case you're not using XP, here's the link where it asks for your OS.

Cleaning cartridges
# Open HP Solution Center:

* Windows XP: Click Start , click All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
* Windows Vista: Click the Windows icon , click All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .

HP Solution Center opens in a new window.
# Click Settings
#In the Print Settings area, click Printer Toolbox . The printer Toolbox opens.
#On the Device Services tab, click Clean the Print Cartridge(s) ( ).
#Click Clean to begin the process.

Can check by cleaning the Roller inside - Problem usually come because of the dust on the roller

First of all make sure the printer is connected to the computer and turned on.
Hp Solution Center, check SETTINGS and look for printers. Is your Printer listed there? I have a feeling that the name of the printer is not showing. If that is the case, you may have to reinstall the software.

It is connected correctly, i need to know how to scann and save the document. it is an easy thing, i do not have a desk top short-cut to be able to scann documents and save to a file to print and attach to...

As long as your computer has been programmed for the printer with disc that came with the printer it is fairly easy. You load paper as if you were going to copy, then your screen should come up on your monitor that asks what you want to do. If not look at your printer screen and press scan. Then use arrows to forward to were you want the scan to go file, e-mail etc. This should solve your problem.

Problem installing hp3845 on PC Window xp

HP 3845 is an old printer and it is possible that the Software Disk that you have might not be compatible with Win-XP.
You can install the compatible software from
Enter 3845 in the field for product and press enter..
it will give the list of all the product that are similar to 3845..
choose your product,,
on the next screen it will ask you to choose the O/S..
choose win-xp..
on the next screen select Software & Drivers..
then Full Feature Software & Driver
scroll down and click on Download Now instead of Install..
Once the download is it and run the file tinstall the software
