Ok, since im figuring these are fairly new products, you should call Linksys, concidering you are still under warranty. If I were to make a guess, maybe you needed to forward or open a port on the router to allow signal to flow between the two.

please observe signal strength as when you are connected to network and till you drop off, there may be distraction in signal strength while you are connected and when you check it again, it comes to good again.

Wusb54gc adapter

Hello,

1. It could that. If that is the case they sure cannot communicate with each other.
2. It could also be that you are forcing your router to use only one protocol a,b,g, or n. You can select auto or all of them.
3.Can your router broadcast at 2.4GHz?.The signal may not carry enough power. You can try to increase the brodcast power.
4. Enter the web interface of you router and try to find out if the USB adapter is part of the network.

Hope it helps.

Taking forever to just connect to router

Try to connect the USB adapter to a different USB port on the back of your computer. Make sure the adapter is plugged in to the back of your PC not to the front.

WUSB54GC model wireless adapter won't connect after months of use

Instead of using the passphrase use the wep key 1 that you created on the router page when you generate it using the passphrase.

Then when you try to connect using the linksys wireless monitor just leave the passphrase blank and type in the wep key1 box the key that I mentioned earlier.
