Take a look at the system requirements at the bottom of this page

http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=13035&pq-locale=en_US

Windows XP or Greater is required. In other words you have to upgrade your OS to XP or better, there is no driver for 98

I can't get the driver software to work on my computer and it won't recognize the camera. I'm runnning a newer HP laptop top with Windows 7.

Older versions of Kojak's EasyShare software do not support the Windows 7 operating system, but Kodak's new version 8 does. You probably just need to download/install the new software at www.kodak.com

Computer won't recognise my kodak c913 camera

An easier way, skip the drivers and software, and buy a card reader. Much easier nothing to buy, if you get open source editors.
Also no drivers required for the card reader.
No connection to the or any computer for that matter.

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

My Kodak will not connect to Windows XP. It has no problem with Vista.

In XP you may need drivers.
If you cannot get it to work, use a card reader. They don't need drivers as a rule in most OSes.
And you don't have to use any of the software, if you don't want to with a card reader.
The drivers for the camera you have can be downloaded from Kodak if you need them.

Why won't some of my photos transfer to the picture files? These photos are treated as if they are duplicates which they aren't.

I spoke to someone on the IM chat at the kodak website, and took me through the steps that seems to get around that problem, if its a kodak c913. they are; open the easyshare software. connect your camera. if a transfer window opens automatically, close it. in the easyshare software window open the 'add picture button'. then select the folder with the name of your camera 'kodak c913'. all your pictures should load as if it would through the automatic transfer window, select whatever pictures you want to add, clock add pictures, then done, and it doesnt come up with the error message of the software believing there is duplicates.

Kodak C913 driver using Windows 7

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

DX3500 Kodak software will not run in Windows Vista

Use a memory card in the camera, then use a generic USB memory card reader to transfer your pictures off the memory card. Camera USB cord drivers are always a pain to use.
