You may also watch the link for some an idea about setup a Bluetooth.
This might sound stupid, but did you activate the blue tooth on a other device so that there is a device to scan for? I am saying this, because my pc gives that message when it does not find any other devices to connect with, although the blue tooth on my pc works fine.
My Acer Aspire has a bluetooth button but it doesn't have bluetooth built in, this is because Acer has lots of different model variations but the exterior looks the same and they use the same hard drive image across the whole model range, this is why I have the software installed but cannot use it as I have no bluetooth device, you can check if you have by right clicking on '(My) Computer' icon then choose manage and then device manager, do you see any bluetooth devices, if not then this is the reason why it's not working.
Not all Acer's have bluetooth inside, even though there is a bluetooth button on most modules. I am on my second Acer, you will have to either use a USB bluetooth or install a module yourself, but be warned its not so easy as it should be!
I like to inform you that Acer Aspire 5630 series has many submodels some of them them come with bluetooth. It will be better if you tell complete model number so conclusion will be more precise. Usually bluetooth device not found message comes due to absence of the BT device. you may confirm your laptop if it has Bluetooth device integrated by following link http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal20.cfm?recordid=511&formid=3404&website=AcerPanAm.com&siteid=7117&words=all&keywords=&areaid=2
if you confirm that if your coputes has no built in bluetooth you can buy an external USB Bluetooth device from local IT stores. Usually price $10-$50.
has your model actually got bluetooth built in as most Acer laptops have the switch, but do not have it fitted, if you do check in control panel> device manager and see if it reports any problems by way of an exclamation mark.
You will probably have to purchase a bluetooth usb dongle for about £9.00 or $18 US and use that
