Question about HP Photosmart A618 InkJet Printer
My HP photosmart A618 has an error that comes up when started. It says "Cartridge failed. Please replace cartridge". We have printed with this cartridge before (one time) and had no problems. The tech line said they could remedy the problem (for a nominal fee) because our printer was about 10 days out of warranty at the time. If this can be fixed without replacing the almost new cartridge, I would appreciate that. If I have to, I will return the cartridge and get another one to try. This will not benefit either one of us, because you will be eating the cost of the cartridge for as many times as it takes to get one that works. My wife and I were very disappointed at the "nominal fee" request when the person at HP seemed to have a simple answer and unable to divulge without being paid first. I hope this can be resolved so I can feel confident about considering an HP product the next time we have the need for some other electronics. Thank you, Andy Zottola

Anyway, ink catridges are how HP makes their money, they couldn't care less about the printers.
There's no away around the bad cartridge problem.
