I have the same alarm on my printer MF5550. There is paper in the tray and there is only one tray. Where is the side tray ?

1 Answer

Make sure you check both paper sources, the side tray going empty will cause your alarm to go on

Supply rec paper tray - what does this mean when the tray is loaded?

OK, I was having a similar problem: Tray full of paper and tray adjusted properly.

Whatever I tried, the printer kept saying load paper.

I went to print menu>properties button (windows XP this is next to the printer name)>paper source tab.

It tuned out that the paper source had been changed from cassette to multi-purpose tray.

Change it back to cassette and you should be golden.

Supply Rec. Paper tray will not clear even with a whole ****

Ok try this - switch the machine off at the mains, empty the paper tray. Push the paper tray back in and switch on the machine with no paper in it. When it's finished warming up it should tell you the tray is empty. Then put paper in. This will usually clear it.

I have a canon copier mf5550 and the alarm which says supply paper tray will not turn off so I can copy, does anyone know what I could do?

take they out and look in there for a black flag hanging down. This is the paper sensor. If its broke you will have to get estimate or repair at a repair center.

Canon Imageclass D320 supply rec. paper malfunction

My problem was that I was trying to print from a PDF file. I found out that the file was legal size and that the setting for the printer to "choose paper source by PDF size" was checked. I unchecked it so that it would print on letter size paper. Hope this helps

Won't feed the paper

the problem with your machine maybe that the default paper size programmed into your machine. My guess is that it is set to legal size{ 81/2x14} Get your owners manual out and see how to program the paper size in the user settings sections.
