Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

Another application in use

For some reason I can't download my purchased items from ITunes because my software is outdated. When I try to download the latest software from ITunes 7 it says "download incomplete as other applications are in use" or some such thing. I don't understand what other applications could be in use since I only had ITunes open. Any suggestions???

I have a new computer and want to synce with my ipod but dont have original software

Just install iTunes on your new computer. If you want to sync content from iPod to new computer via iTunes, you need to keep in mind that iTunes only lets you sync iTunes Store purchases.

Step 1. Once you're on the new computer, install iTunes on it. Once installed, open iTunes, navigate to iTunes preferences (iTunes> Preferences on a Mac, or Edit> Preferences on Windows). Click the Devices button and make sure "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" is checked.

Now you are able to transfer all of your iTunes purchases (including free apps, paid apps, songs, books and movies) from your iPod to your new computer. To do this, right-click (CTRL-click on a Mac) your iPod within iTunes and choose Transfer Purchases. Or click "File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from my iPod". Then iTunes will start syncing the purchased items to the library.

So what about other non-purchased files? Like some nice music you ripped from CDs or some movies you got from DVDs. As is mentioned, you are only allowed to sync purchased items between iPod and computer with iTunes. When you restore your iPhone, the non-purchased items will be erased without any doubts. In order to sync all your data from iPod to new computer without any data loss during the transfer process, you can take advantage of the third-party iPod transfer software to solve the problem.

How do I change my password on apple i-pod

Your Apple ID and password are two key parts of your Apple Account. You can use your Apple ID and password in iTunes to sign in to the iTunes Store, buy content, and authorize items you've purchased. If you already have an Apple Account, you can use your existing Apple ID and password to sign in and buy and authorize items you've purchased from the iTunes Store. Your Apple ID must be a valid email address, for example "" Your password must be at least six letters or numbers, and is case sensitive.
You can change your Apple ID, password, or personal information at any time by signing in and clicking View Account at the My Info page ( Changes you make to your Apple Account while you're in iTunes are also recognized by other applications where you use the same Apple Account (for example, the online Apple Store, MobileMe, or iPhoto). You may be asked to verify your information the next time you use your Apple Account to purchase something in another application.
You can also update your personal details linked to your Apple ID should they change. The country of the primary address associated with your Apple ID is used to determine the correct iTunes Store country, when activating your iPhone, and by other applications where you use the same Apple Account.

How can i download music to my ipod touch without

Unfortunately Apple products are very proprietary, and Apple works very hard to keep people from using other software. I've seen several programs that you can purchase from places like Best Buy that replace the iTunes music software, but using that software will leave you unable to sync any applications or software updates. Good luck!

Cant download music purchased from itunes

If you lost your music purchased from iTunes, Apple support might allow you to download them again if you're lucky. Most often in this case you're SOL though (the biggest reason I will never buy music on iTunes again).

You need to use itunes as your music management software and ipod management software. You can download the latest itunes version at

From here you can purchase items through the itunes music store, or add your own music by adding files from your computer, or putting a cd in your computer and coppying it into itunes so you can put the songs on your ipod.

Hope this helped,

Here is the info from Sony:
Is it possible to drag and drop music from the Apple® iTunes® software to the portable player using the Content Transfer Application? Solution
sp.gif sp.gif Yes, if you have iTunes software installed, you can transfer music and playlists from iTunes software to the Walkman® player by dragging and then dropping the files to the Content Transfer application.
  • The Content Transfer application supports data transfer from iTunes software 7.6 or 7.7 to the Walkman player.
  • The Content Transfer application supports data transfer from iTunes software 8.0. However, for playlist transfer from iTunes software 8.0 to the Walkman player, make sure you are using the latest version of the Content Transfer application. The latest version can be downloaded from the Sony Support Web Site at
  • Digital Rights Management (DRM) copyright-protected files are not supported. iTunes music files may be able to be upgraded to iTunes Plus music files, which do not contain DRM.
  • Do not disconnect the USB connection during data transfer.
  • If there is insufficient free space on the portable player, the data cannot be transferred.
  • The Content Transfer application is included with most newer Walkman Video players. It also is available for additional models in the NWZ-A, NWZ-E, and NWZ-S series. Some models may require an update to be compatible. Additional model-specific information can be found in the Drivers & Software section of the Sony Support Web Site at
