Hi! I just got a Jeff Gordon Blender for christmas. I used it for the first time last night and it just stopped working. It worked for about 5 seconds and it stopped. I tried calling around this morning to appliance repair shops but no one fixes blenders. Could you tell me if you repair them or not? Please get back to me ASAP!!! Thanks so much for your time and have a great day.

This worked for me - only took about 5 minutes (the amount of time it took for me to google Black & Decker and search through their FAQ)
Q. My blender stopped in the middle of blending. What happened? A. Your blender has a motor overheat protection system that will
automatically shut off the blender when it has been running too long
with a heavy load. If this happens, unplug the blender and wait 10-15
minutes to allow the motor to cool down. Plug in the blender and resume
:( my condolences to the blender family.Unplug it its life support and accept your loss. Gently wrap the cord around it and lay its body softly in the trash can. At least you know it tried to the very end. As you walk the isles of walmart, I feel you will find another to take its place.Good luck.
First determine..if it is indeed the motor that is fried. Do this by not using the caraffe. Plug in the motor and run it by itself. If it runs fine without smoking again..It is the caraffe that is defective. If its the motor you are out of luck completely. Jack Lalanne is out of business. If it is the caraffe..which I suspect it is not...oil the rim of the bearing that is on the outside of your caraffe ..it surrounds the knurled part that is inserted into the blender...even if you are able to get the motor repaired..get in the habit of oiling the caraffe bearing after each time you use it. If you dont it will fail within months to a year of use Lalanne had they made in China..and using unsealed bearinga that rust out and the contents of the blender come out!! So I discovere dthat oiling that part each time after use..keeps my blender running smoothly. You might want to take yoru motor to a small appliance repairman..he might find something simple happened.. like a loose wire connection inside! If he does...you have a simple solution and a motor that works! Remember to oil the bearing a couple drops each time after use...and if yoru caraffe ever fails you can buy a new one..( Oil that one too!) at Cooking Toys..you can google for the address email@example.com
My IKON 600 Blender fuse had blown. It was located on the circuit board and can be found by removing the bottom of the blender. Fuse is Fast Blow 10A, metric 5mmx20mm. The fuse blew because the bearing in the bse of the jar froze. Bearing # 608-RS. The beraring froze because the seal in the base of the jar was leaking. Solution: Clean seak surfaces, replace bearing and fuse. Total cost of $6 with my labor.
