I replaced the battarie, drove for a week then while the car was in motion all the Dash lights whent on, when I switched the car of and tried restarting the car, nothing happend. I suspect it is the alternator.
Before you replace the alternator keep in mind the charging system is most likely controlled by the powertrain control module and this may cause a no charge condition. I suggest you have the charging system checked by a dealer before you replace the part. Or just throw one on and hope for the best?? No I do not recommend this.

Yes you can, but first test the switch to make sure it is the problem.

Electircal cable connections to the battery (positive & negative). Inspect the cables and replace as needed

It sounds like the alternator may have been a used one and possibly had a short life. The dimming of the lights is usually a sign of a bad alternator. Nevertheless, check the battery, but I think it may be the alternator. It still could be under warrantee.
