It sounds like a driver issue. Go to http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs and enter your service tag. It should give you a list of available drivers for your system. Make sure that it specifies Windows Vista in the drop down menu. Check for audio drivers and install the most recent one.
did you install the drivers for the webcam ? find out the model of the webacm, go to the manufacturer website (search via www.google.com), go to the site of that manufacturer support & download section and locate the webcam model there , download the driver for Windows XP
for that u not have install any driver if your computer in worantty period then call to dell and tell them they fix your problem or not in warranty then also tell them they haelp u better in the inbuilt problem
This is happening because the Dell webcam central is accessing the webcam at the same time as yahoo messenger. Click on start and click on Run(XP), Type MSCONFIG in start search (Vista) and you'll get the system configuration utility. Open it and go to the startup tab. Uncheck anything related to Dell webcam. Click on Apply and OK and restart the computer. If yahoo messenger shows a black screen uninstall Yahoo messenger and reinstall with the more recent version.
my dell inspirion 1525 microphone is not working. when i am on yahoo messenger i hear the other person but they can't hear me unlike before i use to hear the othe person because there is an in built mic.
That front panel jack option is probably a feature included in some Dell software that you installed on the computer. Go to dell.com and find the audio drivers and install all of the drivers that look like they would apply to your system.
check your microphone settings. first, be sure it is plugged in and on. next, in skype, connect to a call. in my version (3.8.0.188) you can check you mic and speaker settings by pressing the headet icon at the lower part of the screen. i use windows default settings but try others to find one that will work. you can chat with your contact to hel ptroubleshoot the call.
What version of yahoo or google talk are you using?
