You can buy an aftermarket radio harness adapter for your Navigator from ebay quite cheaply. I would not recommend butchering the factory wiring to install a replacement head unit. I found this one (will work as long as your Lincoln wasn't fitted with SATNAV) -

Need to know how to install my deck in my 1999 chevy suburban

The best way to install an aftermarket stereo is to go to a stereo installation store and get the in dash "metra" kit and the wiring harness adapter that allows you to connect the aftermarket stereo wiring to the factory wiring on the truck...the "metra" kit adapts the aftermarket radio to fit into the space for your particualar vehicle..the tech at the stereo store will know what all this means if they know what they are doing...To clarify, "metra" is a brand name for these kits andthey also go by the name scoshe...

Aftermarket stereo wiring harness does not fit oem connectors. ordered stereo and harness together fom online car stereo.com. calledout a metra #70-1761. plugs will not fit either male plug. factory plugs...

Theres a standard amongst most stereos, so if these colors apply, then you will be right,
Red is Ignition power
orange is direct power
Black is earth
blue is for phone
White is for electric arial
then there will be four coloured wires with matching color trace wires, these are the speaker wires.
Hope this gets you going, good luck.

Need a stereo wiring diagram to reinstall factory stereo in my 93 toyota windom

You shouldn't need a wiring diagram, your factory plug should still be in behind the aftermarket stereo harness, unplug the aftermarket harness and your factory plug plugs directly into the factory harness.... hope this helps..

I have a fujitsu am/fm/cd/ tape player out of a 93 camry and would like to put it in a 95 camry but the color code for the wiring doesn't match and thats what I need , can you help Thanks John

Hello jrhauber,

The '93 and '95 Camry have identical color codes. Likewise, the vehicle harness connectors are the same.

Car Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/Yellow
Car Radio Ignition Switched 12V+ Wire: Gray
Car Radio Ground Wire: Brown
Car Stereo Illumination Wire: Green
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: N/A
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Black/Red
Car Stereo Amplifier Trigger Wire: N/A
Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Pink
Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Purple
Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Light Green
Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Blue
Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Black
Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Red
Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): White

You can purchase an aftermarket wiring harness that plugs into the OEM radio. The part number you need for a 1995 Camry is Metra 71-1761 available here for $9.99.

Hope this helps.

No volume

The Bose system in the Z is wired to control the entire car's speakers. Each speaker has its own amplifier, and the OEM head unit puts out a line-level signal to each amp. Your Clarion unit puts out speaker-level signal (in effect, an amplified signal), into the Bose amps, and it's probably overdriving them and putting them into shutdown.

Your best bet is to replace the Bose speakers with aftermarket speakers meant for a speaker-level drive (which is what I did in my Z, and never once regretted it). If you do so, you'll need to run new wires to the speakers, or if you use the OEM wiring, you'll need to unplug the amps and run the wires from the amp harnesses directly to the new speakers. I think there is an adapter harness you can use that will tap into the line-out jacks on your Clarion, so that a line-level signal can be sent to the Bose speakers - I'd do a google search for "Metra harness 300zx" or something along those lines (Metra makes the lineout harness adapters - I use one in my Audi).
