Radeon x1650 pro graphics card isn't working correctly

I hope someone can help me:

I am running microsoft xp professional service pack 2
AMD Athlon 64 processor
3300+
2.41GHz, 896mb of ram

I am trying to install the Radeon x1650 pro, but when I put it in the motherboard, hook up power, plug in the monitor and turn the computer back on all I get is squiggly colorful lines. I'm not sure what's wrong so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Do you have another video card to use to get the drivers installed for your new card?

Have you tried a different monitor? Maybe the monitor you are using doesn't have the resolution needed. I had that happen to me before a long time ago and it ended up being the monitor was to old. Another time was that the resolution was set to high. It's worth a try.

Usually that happens only when the card isn't well seated on the slot, or damaged. I guess you've already checked the card is well seated and pushed into the slot. If you had, then the card can be damaged, probably from static or maybe even it has overheated when it worked and something broke, I'm sorry to tell.

I can't install AUTOCAD 2009 in my windows XP computer. It asks to install direct 3D

Most probably your hardware ie graphic card do not support software requirements.

Autocad 2009 system requirements for Win XP.
32-bit AutoCAD 2009
Running under Windows XP:
•Microsoft Windows XP SP2 operating system
•Intel® Pentium® 4 processor or AMD Athlon®, 2.2 GHz or greater
or
Intel or AMD Dual Core processor, 1.6 GHz or greater
•1 GB RAM
•750 MB free hard disk space for installation
•1024x768 VGA with true color
•Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (SP1 or higher)
If you are using AutoCAD for 3D modeling, you should bump up your system as follows:
•Intel Pentium 4 processor or AMD Athlon, 3.0 GHz or greater
or
Intel or AMD Dual Core processor, 2.0 GHz or greater
•2 GB RAM or greater
•2 GB of additional free hard disk space
•1,280 x 1,024 32-bit color video display adapter (true color) 128 MB or greater, OpenGL or Direct3D capable workstation class graphics card.

Hope it helps.

Can we install windows xp on compaq v3424 au laptop

If your laptop meets the following requirements then there shouldn't be a problem:

PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended

128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)

1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space*

Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor

CD-ROM or DVD drive

Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
I would take a system restore point BEFORE you upgrade and make sure you back up everything BEFORE you attempt an install/upgrade.

Hope this helps.

Upgrading to Windows XPx64

The answer is no because your motherboard still only supports 32 bit drivers. Read On.

Here's what you need to use Windows XP Professional x64 Edition

Important: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition cannot be successfully installed on x86 (32-bit) systems or 64-bit Intel Itanium–based systems. 32-bit device drivers are not supported on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.
• Computer with a supported processor: AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon with Intel EM64T support, Intel Pentium 4 with Intel EM64T support
• 256 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended
• 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard-disk space (additional space may be required if installing over a network)
• CD-ROM or DVD drive
• Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor
• Keyboard, Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device

• Remote Desktop requires a computer running Windows 95 or later and the two computers must be connected over a network
• DVD video playback requires a DVD drive and DVD decoder card or DVD decoder software and 8 MB of video RAM

COREL x4 running very slow & spooler problem

System Requirements:

Processor:
# Pentium III, 800MHz or AMD Athlon XP

Operating System:
# Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later
# Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit editions)

Hard Disk:
# 430 MB

Memory:
# 512 MB RAM

Optical Drive:
# DVD-ROM

Other:
# 1,024 × 768 or better monitor resolution
# Mouse or tablet

Where these are the minimum specs I would recommend at least 1+gb memory and a good graphics card and a P4 or AMD processor running at 1.8ghz or better, and that would depend on how in depth you get into the program
