Skype not working

Sir,

Click this link for more information........

http://support.skype.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=35

Also Check........

On a PC with external speakers and also a headset with microphone. Windows XP is configured so that standard audio are external speakers and standard microphone is the headset. Skype is configured to use the headset for audio in and out.

This way one can listen to sound from the PC and from MP3 players through external speakers and if there is a call to make or take, this is going through the headset.

But now there is the problem that the noise level for the headset is too low. Increasing volume has no effect on the headset, it only affects the external speaker's volume.

Now the solution: Going to the control panel and opening the sound setting, go to the audio tab. The external speakers are selected as default. Just temporarily select the headset and then click on volume just below. You can now set the volume for the headset, click OK and click cancel (!!!) on the sound control dialog box. This way the external speakers remain as default output.

Skype-->Tools -> Options -->Sound Devices-->audio device/USB/etc Audio Device (do NOT use windows default device)
You can also tick the ring pc speaker check box as this is a good backup to alert you even
if the main speakers are off or turned down.

Windows:
Start-->Control panel-->Sound and Audio devices
On the audio tab set the default playback device to your main soundcard(AC97/Audio-chip/add-on-adapter), etc.
Your installed audio device must be present there.
If not, reinstall audio device

thanks
good luck

Does the acer aspire 5532 have a sound card or built in microphone?

I believe it has both, strictly speaking it won't be a dedicated sound card as such but the capability will be integrated onto the motherboard. According to Acer Support the 5532 has High-definition audio support, Two built-in stereo speakers and is MS-Sound compatible. The peripheral subsystem has a Headphone/speaker/line-out jack and a Microphone-in jack should you want to add an external microphone for better quality recording.

I just bought the Ls21 external speaker system. They work but the volume is incredibly low and the sub doesn't work at all. Also it works without the plug being in. Very strange. Suggestions? Drivers? what...

Hi,
OS these days are usually set up for additional hardware like speakers. But you should check the settings for the speakers from your computer first. To find out if the settings is the culprit, you can plug your speakers into another music player to test it. If the same issue arises, you may have to bring it back for exchange.

My integrated microphone stopped working today when i was Skyping my mother. I have tried installing/upgrading the drivers but it isnt working. I havent damaged the laptop in any way. I really need help...

The best is to try with an external microphone to see if the fault is only on the microphone hardware. If so you can test and use with athe external for the time being and need not tamper the laptop mic .
But if you are able to open and change with your expertise thendo so.
however if the external mic does not log on then the audio section hardware is faulty.

JVC Everio GZ HD-40's external microphone problem

I have the GZ-HD40 and have tested the scenario below.

The problem is that the Microphones you are using are Mono, not Stereo. If you look at the plug on the end of your microphone you will see it has only two connections, the screen and the tip. For a Stereo mic it needs three connections screen, sleeve and tip, much like your headphone jack.

I know this is going to sound a bit nuts but use a set of head phones as a microphone. You will notice the left speaker acts as the left mic and the right speaker as the right mic.

Use microphone JVC MZ-V8 Stereo microphone and you will see that it has the three connectors as I have stated above.

Hope this helps.

And if im not mistaken your year truck might need a really expensive harness to install the radio. Here is a link to it.

Here's the audio specs of your lenovo n200: intel high deifnition audio, realtek ALC861CD codec/stereo speakers, 1.5 watt/volume, up, down, mute button/ stereo microphone, microphone input jack (3.5mm) and heaphone jack (3.5 mm)

although your n200 has a stereo speakers the voice quality is not that good, it would be better to use an external microphone

Hi!

integrated microphone really wont work on xp. it's either there's njo choice for us or they are still working on it (which i don't believe). Sorry but the system was designed for Windows Vista that's why, there's no driver designated for XP.
