Question about Pioneer TS-SWX310 Car Subwoofer
I just installed a new amp and sub in my son's truck. Alpine ms-mrp500 rated at 300 watts rms into 4 ohms and a Pioneer ts-swx310 enclosure 250watts nominal, 1000 max, 4 ohms. After 1 day the sub appears to be blown. Still works but rattles at all volumes. My question is, is this amp too powerful for the sub? One other thing - he blew two 20 amp inline fuses to the amp so replaced it with a 30A. The amp calls for a 60A fuse. Shouldn't the smaller fuse have prevented the amp from delivering full power?Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Matt
Fuses wont restrict the current flow the amp is way too much for that sub. it may not have damaged that sub yet but it will. you might only need a 100 watts rms too run it.but you will need sowe where about 2000 watt sub too run off that amp
