Question about Conexant (56KUSBMODEM)

HP Notebook has just had XP reinstaled. I cannot get modem hooked

I had to have windows XP reinstalled in my HP Notebook. Now I cannot get it to connect to the conexant USB Modem. The modem is working perfectly when connected to my P C. Everything worked ok prior to the reinstallation of XT. The encapsulation data provided by Zen as VC-MUX is not listed on the 3 configuration options which are all prefaced RFC. I have tried them all. Also the ISP section only lists AOL-uk: BT &m Karoo. Again I have tried them all. I just get various error messages when my laptop tries to dial up, from no dial tone to incorrect username/password, not recognised on this domain. Where am I going wrong? Appreciate any help, thanks

Free recovery disks for hp pavillion zd8000 with windows 7

As far as I know, the original zd8000 operating system is Windows XP. If you have Windows 7 installed, then you need to get Windows 7 disc and its product key. If you need the Windows XP reinstallation media, then you can use HP Windows XP reinstallation disc only (for example: HP Windows XP Professional with SP2 disc).

I have a CQ61-420us laptop. the modem has stopped working. How do I uninstall & reinstall the modem to see if this will help?

Go to Start>Control Panel, make sure your viewing the Control Panel in classic mode, then go to Administrative Tools>Computer Management.
Click the Device Manager from the left side bar, and find your modem. Open your modem and go to the Driver tab, then simply uninstall your modem and restart. Windows should reinstall in on start up.

I just reinstalled windows xp on my other computer and I can't get on the internet now. I downloaded my modem's driver onto a flashdrive, but I'm not sure how to install and set it up

Hi,
You should install your LAN driver. Once you reinstall xp it does not automatically install LAN driver since this is a motherboard issue. The LAN driver is located on your motherboards set-up cd or on your recovery discs. If not available, the LAN driver can be downloaded from your manufacturers website...DELL, HP...etc, or if it's a homemade system then your motherboard's mfg website.

(LAN driver sometimes called ethernet driver)

Can not install video controller & modem on windows XP 64 bit

This Computer is not compatible with 64 bit operating system and all drivers will not work with 64-bit version. Do not wait for any answers, just reinstall 32-bit XP. However, the drivers you have already installed, do not work as a 64-bit, they work as a 32-bit.

Modems not detected with Windows XP install

According to the specs this is the driver (Toshiba Software Modem) you need to install to enable your modem.

Post your results, especially if this doesn't fix your problem.
