Trail run for the first time using H2O only. When making 12 cup pot, only 8 cups fill the pot and remainder 4 stays in the filter.
I have the Cuisinart DGB-600BC and it does the same thing. It can take 10 starts to get it to run the full pot.

Re: Coffee doesn't brew full pot
Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.

Pot needs cleaning. Fill reservoir with 4 cups of vinegar. Press the
SELECT button until the red CLEAN indicator light turns on. Let it perk
through. It will take 45-60 minutes. It brews a few cups, stops and
then should brew the remainder of the vinegar. When the cycle is
complete the light will burn off and the coffeemaker will turn off.
Discard vinegar solution and run a couple of pots of clear water
through. Hope this helps.

Finally, I got my coffee pot to run through without stopping several times. To fix it I had to run vinegar through eight times! Never before has it taken so many cycles to clean out a pot. It is still spluttering a bit so today I am going to get more vinegar or maybe even CLR and run it through a few more times.
Check where the water comes out under the brew filter. It sounds like you may be missing the sprayhead. It is a round metal or plastic piece that is screwed on to the water dispense area and acts like a little showerhead forcing water evenly over the coffee grounds. If it is missing, the coffee will be weak. Check the water temperature. If it isn't hot enough, the coffee will be weak.
I was having problems like this and then I read on a different string on this website that people have had success by flushing the system numerous times (sometimes up to six times) with vinegar. I took out the charcoal filter and flushed once with vinegar but only saw a small amount of improvement. I was out of vinegar so I used Lemishine mixed with water and it went from making one cup to making a full pot with one flush.
you must have a filter and coffee in the basket for a full drain.the weight of the water is enough to open the basket when its full but as your trail run ended the final amount of water is not enough to open drain drop. with filter and coffee in it there is enough weight to keep drain drop open so all water can drain!
