You must have a psp 2000 or the new 3000 to hook it up to a tv or pc. if you have the original psp, the audio/video cables are not compatable.

the original psp will still connect via wi-fi to the ps3, however this does not work for gaming.... only streaming from your ps3 to your psp will work.

I have nfs carbon in my pc. ihave a psp to. ihave to convert this carbon into that. what is the solution?

Do you want to play the carbon on your pc on or PSP ?

You can run older DOS-based PC Games such as Doom, Quake or Duke Nukem 3D on your PlayStation Portable (PSP) if you have the right software. Finding, downloading and installing the software is not too difficult. Once you have the proper configuration on your PSP, all you have to do is save the games on your PSP's memory stick and boot up the correct programs.

  • 1

Download the free program DosBox for PSP (see Resources). Save it to your PSP's memory stick under the "GAMES" directory. To do this, insert the memory stick in your PC's memory stick slot, or connect your PSP to your PC via the mini-USB cable provided by the manufacturer. Using Windows Explorer, open the memory stick or PSP and then navigate to the "GAMES" directory.

  • 2

Install the PC games you want to play on your PSP's memory stick. When the PC game install wizard asks where you want to install the game, direct it to the "GAMES" directory on your memory stick. It should then create a new folder within "GAMES," where all of the PC game's files will be located.

  • 3

Insert your memory stick into the PSP or disconnect the PSP from your PC. Start the PSP, and go to "MEMORY STICK" on the main menu. Scroll down until you find DosBox listed and start the program.

  • 4

Type "cd/games" using the PSP's virtual keyboard option at the DOS prompt. (Hit the circle button to bring up the virtual keyboard.) Then type "cd/" followed by the name of the game directory for the game you want to play. Finally, type the name of the executable file (".exe") listed in that directory. Your PC game should start.

Troubleshoot your individual PC game by experimenting with the various game controls. Since the PSP obviously has fewer inputs than a PC's mouse and keyboard, you may have to use trial and error to discover how to play your game successfully on the PSP.

Ive come to realise that most of the older game for psp made into download format are currently running slow in framerate, rendering and gameplay no matter what psp system i use, examples:gta vice city...

The big difference is that the PSP is having to pull everything (in terms of music, graphics, etc.) from the internal memory unit of the PSP itself. This takes processing speed and therefor slows down the entire unit. When playing a game off UMD, most of the information is being drawn from the UMD itself, which takes substantially less memory then running from the system itself. There's really no way to fix this until they get a PSP that has a beefier processor in it.

Not able to download and play games ion psp

To play downloaded games, the psp has to be hacked. at this point the 3000 series PSPs can not be hacked.Your solution would be to get an older model PSP (either 1000 or 2000) model and have it hacked or try to hack it yourself. There is lots of tutorials on-line.

I cant play games from memory

    Hi kalfan

What happened was that when you downgraded your PSP to -play game from your memory stick, that version was loaded onto your PSP for a reason. What you did now is install the latest firmware and that disabled you from playing games from your memory stick. You might have to get your PSP downgraded again with the older firmware version.

My psp could not read the game folder on the memory stick

Your psp must be custom firmwared for you to be able to play games from the ISO folder, to custom firmware it, it must have a pandora battery and the files required. You can buy pandoras batterys and a magic memory stick off ebay for a reasonable price.  Hope this helps

Trouble playing a game on PSP while on the TV

I haven't got a tv which is good enough for the psp componets cable. But as sony psp manual says, http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psp/current/settings/index_videoout.html you probably need to setup your tv for the correct display type, not only on your psp, BUT ALSO YOUR TV SETUP!

    Good luck.
