I had my EMachine desktop in storage for a year and when I got it out and hooked everything up it now says I need a password to get into the computer. I have tried every password I could think of, to no avail. Is there a way to override this without losing the other things I have in my computer??

and then uninstall all the unwanted programs, after scanning you should install antivirus, i recommend AVG, free edition, (search in google)downloadable. if you connected to the computer.
but if you has been backup you can proceed to system recovery using the CD installation disk.

Well you can use the admisintrator account you set up to begin with or any other account that has admin abilities to change the password. But if you dont have that then you will have to hack the password to change it.
to do that go to source forge and download ophcrack live cd http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/
and burn it to cd.
Then boot to the cd. (put it in the drive and rebioot then hit key when asked to boot to cd. you may have to go into your bios and activate cd as a boot device.)
Then it will start to crack the password (I say crack for a lack of a better word)
Once its done you chould see a list of passwords found.
Write down the one you need and then reboot the computer without the cd in the drive.
Then when it asks for password use the one you wrote down and then imediately go to users and change the password to something you will remember.

As long as you have a suitable connector, either USB, the new standard or a parallel port (old) and an appropriate cable, it should work fine. I'm not sure if E-Machines even sells printers, and if they do, they are most likely made by someone else.
