Fan motor could have gone bad, spark unit(little black box in handle) could be bad. one of the three top conections could be loose, or hooked up wrong, battery contacts on end of circuit board assembly could be placed a little off( battery not making contact with circuit mold assembly) pinched one of the wires going to the trigger area, or fan area
SOURCE: My paslode IM350 fires about once every 20
by service im assuming you mean replacing the o-ring and seals/gaskets. If not do that. But if you have it may be more of an internal problem with the air valve leaking around the piston.
SOURCE: My paslode IM350 fires about once every 20
Check to make sure that the chamber is free of debris because the piston can get stuck if it is dirty it probably just needs to be cleaned and then lubricated really well and the problem should stop. Other outcome is the worse it could also be that the piston is bent and it gets hung up on itself then it would have to either be sent in for repair or to take it to a repair shop.
Hope this works

My paselode was doing the same thing, and I followed all of the cleaning instructions, but the problem continued.
If it was left alone for a minute, it would fire again, so I removed the cover over the trigger assy, and checked the spark plug wire connection. The trigger came out, and during reassembly, I noticed that the electrical switch was hanging, and slowly pushing back out.
I cleaned and lightly spray/oiled the switch pin, and voila.........works like a charm.

Make sure the nails are inserted so that the follower maintains pressure on the strip of nails. Also, your pressure on the whole gun at an angle is probably not as great as on the flat---could lead to misfiring

Hi, heatman101
Here is a tip that I wrote
about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up
with them.
I also have a link to the Paslode manuals
which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.
If
you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a
site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.
