Ignition wont crank ford F 150

My 2001 F 150 acts like the battery is dead but it was just tested and is in great condition. There is a clicking noise in the glove box area and the lights click on and off along with my gauges jumping around oddly when I first turn the key. The ignition is also fighting me but i think that may be a separate issues not sure. Truck totally acts dead. No lights, no sounds, no gauges, no crank, no windows, power locks dont work... but battery checks out good.... .

Make sure your getting 12V at the starter (fm batt) & have a good, clean ground from the batt. Good luck

SOURCE: 95 F150 wont crank

the starter should be replaced. The solenoid is kikcing the pinion out but there is no contact being made to turn the starter motor. I have the exact same truck and before i changed the starter used the old starter tap trick. Tap the starter casing with a hammer and it should start turning again. hope this was helpful for you. Good luck.

SOURCE: 1999 ford expedition wont turn over

this sounds easy
now i under stand that your windows and lights are working but let me tell you somethig speciel

if you have a motor in an remote control car it is not running then you go and check it in a torch and it works this is why

a starter motor on a car uses a lot of power and is very high draw (takes alot from the battery)
a light or a power window motor uses less so it can provide the power needed where the starter motor needs more and it can not provide

hope you get what i mean

if i put a motor out of a corsa (1.4, 4 cylinder verry small motor) and put is in a bus it wont move it cause it is too hard
then if i put it in a go cart it will fly
tyr a new battery or see if you can borrow a friends to test it if it starts with a fully charges battery then all you need is a battery if not let me know more and i will do some home work for you

SOURCE: 87 f250 drained brand new battery

I would first have the alternator checked by an auto electrician to ensure it is working correctly and is providing the correct volume of current. It may be faulty and when driving you will be drawing battery power instead of power from the alternator to run the electrics. This will drain the battery.

Alternators do not last forever and if you are still running the original unit it is likely to be on it's last legs and you will need a replacement unit.

I have an 89 ford bronco and it wont turn over

Fords require 10 + volts to activate the solenoid.
A faulty solenoid, weak battery, or bad connections can cause the solenoid to click. Especially a battery with a dead cell that looks like it is charged.
If the solenoid is clicking the neutral safety switch is ok. If you are only hearing relays click, take a test light and check the 16 gauge wire on the solenoid for voltage with the key in start position.
Also jumper that post with the battery post on the solenoid to crank the engine.

I have a 1999 ford taurus se and two weeks ago it went dead took the battery to be charged and has been fine but has stopped working again i replaced the battery and still wont start any suggestions

Battery cables and connectors must be clean and tight.
Wires on starter must be clean and tight.
If there is no crank at all test neutral safety switch ,ignition switch and starter relay.

lastly test starter by fabricating a set of jumper wires and running it straight from battery and see what happens.
