Based on the postings, there appears to be three common problems that causes the error, which is related to a paper jam error. 1) If its a new printer or even an older one, there are two sponges that collect ink and two plastic wipers located in purge unit may be loose or missing. Check to see if its it there. If not, it may actually be stuck somewhere. 2) there may some paper stuck somewhere around the printhead and or the purge unit or 3) there is a build up of gooey ink on the purge unit.

The gooey ink turned out to be my problem and apparently quite a few others. Following someone else's advice, I turned off the printer & unplugged it, move the printhead to the left and used long Qtips with Windex to clean up the ink around the purge unit including a little white plastic spring-loaded lever. I also dampen the sponges with Windex. If you do this be careful not to dislodge the sponge or wipers. If you do, you can alway stick the pieces back in. After cleaning it, and checking the sponges and wipers are seated correctly, I plug the unit back in and worked fine. Problem solved!

Canon pixma all in one mp500 error code 6A00

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Manually move the print head left and right, and turn the printer on/off. I would also inspect the rollers for ANY debris... it can often be fixed by using "canned air" and blowing the interior out completely.

Cannon Mp600. I have an error code 6A00

Try
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Error 6A00 appears. Wil not print. Cannot find

I found this elsewhere and it is from a Canon technician.
======================
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.

I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

==============

so what I would do is check for something blocking the paper path, plus turn off the printer, manually move the print head from one side to the other and back, and then turn the printer back on.

Service error 5c10, error code 6a00 wored

6A00 is the error when the purge assembly is broken or jammed. You need a shop to install a new one since the entire print engine has to come out to replace it.

Service error 6A00

It looks like the print carriage was stuck. Turn on off the printer, manually move the ink cartridge back and forth a few times, look underneath for dirt or small piece of paper (usually happens when you have jammed paper) or use a blower to clean any foreign objects.
