Question about Canon PowerShot A540 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Cannot trasfer pics from Canon Powershot A540 to computer.

I'm having problems trasferring the pics on my camera to my computer. I've restarted the computer, recharged the camera's batteries and uninstalled and reinstalled the ZoomBrowers program. Usually as soon as I open the program and turn on the camera(on review mode) the display screen on the camera opens and I select the option wanted. But right now, when I select "Aquire and Camera Settings then Aquire images from memory card," I only get the hour glass as if its trying to find the program. Any help would be appreciated.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as ZoomBrowser or Picasa.

SOURCE: how do I trasfer pictures from internal memory to

Press the Review button (the right-pointing triangle).

Press the Menu button, then left/right to highlight the Edit tab.

Press up/down to highlight Copy, then press OK. Highlight a choice, then press OK.

Note: this copies pictures, not moves them. To remove them from the original location after copying, delete them.

Your computer screen may need some color adjustments. Have you tried printing some of the pics to see if the color is as amazing as on the camera? Or have you tried viewing the pics on another computer for comparison?

Connecting the Canon Powershot A540 to a computer

First you should have a program installed in your computer to transfer your pictures, best is canon's.
Once the USB cable is connected you should turn your camera on, automatictly the program detects your camera and asks you to press the transfering button. Good Luck.
