Question about Leupold Wind River RB800C Rangefinder
My leupold wind river rangefinding binoculars can only be used a few times before the battery is completely expired
The cpu board has failed or is failing. To be specific......a capacitor on the board has failed allowing current to flow when the unit is not in use. I see a new cpu board in your future or new rangefinder.

I experienced exactly this problem. I have now solved it completely by removing the nasty thin steel battery spring in the cap of the battery housing, and soldering in place a much thicker, gold plated spring which I removed from a no longer needed, low power but well constructed LED Lenser torch. That was two months ago, and my CR123 is still showing full power, whereas before I would have been on probably the second or third battery by now. I feel sure that the old spring, which was as I say very thin and bendy, was creating a short circuit when the cap was put on over the battery. The new spring is clearly doing the job, and half an hour's work has saved me the fortune I was thinking of paying for a replacement pair.
