Question about SanDisk 2GB microSD Memory Card

1 Answer

Multi-use SanDisk 2GB SD Card

Received this for Christmas. Tested in camera - OK. After inserting into Toshiba Satellite P25 PC, lockup occurs. When removed, PC unlocks but cursor has a blinking hourglass next to it. If I perform a safe hardware removal the blinking hourglass goes away. Performing a diagnostic produces a PNP Device ID Error Code 47. Using my old Kodak SD card is never a problem. Is there a solution?

Have you formatted the card? It sounds like it might be having difficulty installing your card..

Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been prepared for safe removal, but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)Recommended resolutions

Here are some things that you can try to resolve this problem.

Reconnect the device

This error code occurs only if you used the Safe Removal application to prepare the device for removal, or pressed a physical eject button.

Reconnect the device to your computer

Disconnect this device from the computer, and then connect it again.

Restart your computer

Make sure that the device is connected correctly to your computer, and then restart your computer. Click Start, click Shut Down, and then select Restart in the Shut Down Windows dialog box to restart the computer.

The P880 works with MMC and SD cards. Your new 4GB card is an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. The camera is limited to working with cards 2GB and smaller.

Where can I insert my mini sandisk memorycard into my toshiba laptop? I see no slots for it.

If you have no SD slot on your laptop, you will have to buy an external USB SD reader. They typically cost $5-$10, and are readily available online (e.g. http://www.buy.com/prod/micro-sd-sdhc-card-usb-reader-for-1gb-2gb-4gb-8gb/q/sellerid/23962916/loc/101/213271933.html) or in almost any store with a good selection of electronics.

Have a look into the device manager, right click my computer, select manage, then on the left side of the management window click on device manager, plug in the sd, do you see any ? or ! or yellow marks or unknown devices that a driver would be missing from or malfunctioning?

My argus cintar DC5315 will not work with a 2GB SanDisk SD card

Due to the devices age (i have one too, i bought it Christmas 2005) its internal parts are not as strong as newer cameras, and therefore, cannot support as much memory as new cameras. I have an 8gb SD card and the camera does not even turn on with that much space, but with 128MB it works just fine.
