Bought 2 new gardenia in 9cm pots, have re-potted into large container, they have had feed and water, yet they seem to be dying off

It could be that the container they are in is too big. The top layers of soil are the first to dry up so if a container is too large for the plants, the nutrients and water could be washed down beyond the smaller plants reach. I would start by having the soil tested at a local plant and tree nursery. Over time minerals and salts can build up in soil to levels that may be tolerable for a larger plant that has grown in that soil it\'s entire life, but will mean doom and death to smaller plants or different types of plants. If the soil tests ok,. then I\'d try a smaller container. I\'m no expert, this is just from my own experience. Hope it helps.

Tip

Onions last longer if

Take a clean discard pair of stockings and place an onion in, letting in fall to the toe then tie a knot just above the onion and add a second onion. Repeat untill full the hang in a cool dry place. As you need an onion simply cut off the bottom onion leaving the knot to hold the remaining onions.

I have a white mold in the reservoir. It came up fast (over a weekend) and is taking over. It also smells.

You need to try Silica Gel Packets to dry out the area. Silica Gel will remove all the moisture from the area it prevents Mold, Mildew, Corrosion, Odors or any kind of Moisture Damage, something air drying will not do!

Just Google "Silica Gel Packets" and you will find several companies selling these products. There is also a web site called: http://www.SilicaGelPackets.com that has them.

My cherry tomato plants are 8" high and 5 weeks old. I just noticed that the very bottoms of the main stems are a little smaller (in diameter) than the rest of the stem and are slightly brown! Could it be...

Hi,

Sounds like it could be Nitrogen defficiency ..
"Nitrogen deficiency:Very slow growth of plants, followed by progressive pale green color moving from tip and young leaves back to more mature leaves. Leaves are small, thin, perhaps with purple veins. Stems eventually brown and dry off. Flower buds yellow and drop. Apply N immediately"All you ever wanted to know about tomatoes but were too afraid to ask: http://home.earthlink.net/~shelly.johnson/tomato.html

:)

If this helps please leave feedback, if not let me know and I'll try and help some more

Connect ballast to light

black to black and white to white, the green wire is the ground. the lighter colored wire is most likely for european connection if it is a switchable ballast.
