Re: deleting tracks

I 'm not sure I am on your wave length here Minidisc- if it is a commercial recording - you cannot delete tracks If it is a burned recording on a CD-R you cannot not delete tracks- well you can but you don't get the space back Look up the manufacturers web site and browse around for a manual download.

Hi, can you please how i can delete the contents of a minidisc? I have tried to use the edit/delete function on the player but it says TrPROTECT. I have checked the minidisc and its not on protect mode.

Page 121 of the Manual states that on the Net MD you cannot delete tracks, groups or the entire disc contents.

In other words you need to have it connected to your PC to Add & Remove tracks.

Problem with transfering!

This is not a solution, but an explanation.
There is nothing wrong with your Net MD. This is a standard feature Sony included to protect copyrights. An extensive search of available soft produced only one non-commercial product which promisses such transfer
No idea if it works, it's a shareware.

Erasing an MD after "TR Protect" has been set.

I figured it out!! Initialize! Connect your MZ-N505 to a PC with the USB port. You'll need a USB A to mini B cable.Using the SonicStage software from Sony Support. You can then click the Transfer tab at the top of the screen. Select NetMD. All the current tracks on the disc should appear in the right hand window. At the bottom right of that window click Device/Media info. A dialog should pop up allowing you to Initalize (erase) the disc. Whew! I also bought a bunch of used Mini Discs that I wanted to record over. I ran into the same "TRProtect" message. Now I can use all these discs! Hope this helps. Have fun.

Sony Net MD Walkman (MZ-N910)

had the same problem a few minutes ago!
removed the battery but it didn't help.
tried with another md, no success
tried the same md in another Mz 910, no success

then it got on my nerves and I gave the MZ n910 a little shock with my hand.

It worked, stopped spinning and started to play.

It was, I think, a spinning problem, md couldn't play properly, the little shock helped.
