Your camera has an internal memory as well as a card memory. If the camera isn't recognizing the card you could have a couple possible solutions: Your card may not be formatted or it may have gotten locked. Pull the card out of the camera and look closely on the edges for a lock switch... make sure it's off. Reinsert and see if it works.. If it's in need of formatting, go to the menu and look for format card. K
Make sure the card is fully pushed in; otherwise it could be the reader. You could try to insert the card into an external card reader connected to a PC. If it is recognized by windows, click "format". If that works put the card back into the camera. If it is now recognized, go to "menu" and format again with the camera. If the card is not recognized, your internal card reader seems to be faulty.
I suggest you to remove the card from the camera and use a memory card reader to transfer the pictures to the computer. Note that the memory card should be formatted in the camera. Once the pictures are transferred you can reinsert the memory card to the camera and then format it in the camera.
