Device manager is gone from control panel

Recently I discovered that device manager is not on my control panel. I did a search for it and nothing comes up. Where has it gone and how do I get it back?

In Windows XP it has moved. Double-click System, go to the Hardware tab and you will see it.

ADVENT Discovery MT1804 Desktop web cam not working

Go to Control Panel
go to device manager
Have a look down the list to see if there is an entry which has a yellow triangle containing an exclation mark next to it., see if the entry matches your webcam.
Providing that you have discovered your webcam in this list, right click on the entry and click on update drivers. Follow the prompts and see if your pc locates new drivers for the device.
If this fails, search Advent's website for drivers for your pc

My inspiron 1501 is stuck in safe mode I'll gone to the set up and tried turning it on with regular setting but still stuck in safe mode.

go to computer>system properties>device manager, or search through the control panel menus for device manager. in device manager, click on each "+" to expand your hardware views, looking for a red "x" or a yellow "!", which would signify a hardware problem. if you find any "x"'s or "!"'s, then you will need to either disable those devices or reinstall the drivers for them. if this does not fix it, then you probably have a defective video card or network card.

My speakers wont work, everything is plugged in, and nothing will still not work.

I know this was old query, but i recently had a problem with sound cutting out. Discovered if I jammed a spoon between the two cables input to the sub box, I could get sound back. Today finally got around to opening it up and discovered the soldering on both sides of the 8 pin anchor leads were broken. The pressure of the spoon jam allowed the connection to "seat" temporarily. Fixed with 25w iron and 60/40rosin core 0.032" solder. Wicked the old broken mess off and applied dab of new shiny complete solder. Good Luck all.

I have an ABS laptop. I have gone into control

First make sure nothing is muted.
Start>Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices

If nothing is muted, and your volumes are up and still no sound, try updating your audio drivers,

Start>Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Sound Video and Game Controllers

Right click your audio drive and select Update driver.

WD 1TB Hard-drive, worked perfectly now it won't :'(

If you go into Administrative Tools, Computer Management, you will see a tree for disk management. It should be listed there - probably without a drive letter..
You can partition and format there.

To get to administrative tools: Go into your control panel - click on classic view and it is one of the top options.

I have no sound. My audio controller,"this device cannot start.[code 10]"

Hi Empressandi. Have you recently updated your audio driver? If so try rolling back your driver. If your operating system is Windows XP goto start menu, control panel, system, device manager, locate your audio controller and click on roll back driver Likewise under Vista goto start menu, control panel and in the search box, top left, type device manager.
If this audio controller has never worked try searching for an updated driver.
Hope this helps.
