You most likely have a problem with your hard disk. It's possible a virus did some damage, or a power surge interrupted it while it was writing to a critical file. You can try connecting a mouse to one of your USB ports and booting into safe mode to do a virus scan but most likely you will save time and trouble by simply re-installing your operating system and reloading all of your software.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Have you tried starting in safe mode to see if it will boot that way? In case your not sure how turn the computer off then when off hit power on and just start pressing F8 over and over until you get the black screen asking about safe mode. You might hear some beeping while doing it dont worry about that. Choose start in safe mode with networking.Quick question is there any reason the lapshows the screen of windows starting vertically like that instead of the normal horizontal way from left to right? Just curious if you did that or thats new too.
Sorry you are having trouble. Try this: turn unit on. Press F8 to goto safe mode. Goto control panel. Goto System. Goto Device Manager. Look for display adapters. Remove whatever is listed there (write it down first) Reboot to normal mode. What should happen is that windows will detect a display adapter and install it. let me know if you need more info.
It sounds like your laptop is using it's external VGA adapter for its main display. Try holding down the Function (FN) on your keyboard located on the bottom left hand side and pressing F4 at the same time.
well im not a great tech but i can give you one solution, you can try to connect it to ANY monitor from the VGA port of your laptop, just find a PC monitor to do this with. to "flip" the screen to different angles you will have to be logged on.
Hope this helps, i you have any further questions just ask
Try going into safe mode upon startup by hitting the F8 button. If it does then hit safe mode to get into your computer. Go to start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Follow the wizard to restore your computer to a date earlier than when you started having problems. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.
Does your laptop come with a recovery disc? If so, insert the disc, turn off pc, boot it up from the cd and do a start up repair. Your OS start up is got corrupted. Don't worry, start up repair won't delete your data, it will only re install the OS start sequence.
Hope this helps.
I found an online manual for your camera. Page 84 talks about the USB Mode Normal with the 4 dots underneath. It also show a troubleshooting area for this and it is on page 96. Hopefully this will get your camera working right again. Here is the link to the pdf manual. http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW1.pdf
Could be a simple video driver problem, try starting up your laptop in safe mode (Pressing F8 on boot up).
If and when screen comes up highlight 'Start Windows in Safe Mode'
Next a list of startup drivers etc will stream down the screen and tell you you are starting in safe mode, allow this.
If your lcd screen stays on then it's a driver problem, go to add/remove programmes and uninstall driver the driver and restart your laptop.
This should then start in VGA mode all icons will be bigger than normal.
Either re-install video drivers from setup/restore disk or go to laptops manufacturer website to download drivers.
If no screen even in safe mode LCD probably dead.
Please rate solution.
