I have the same touch pad, the fault is that the font color is the same as the background color, doesn't make any difference if you change the color. They are aware of this problem and promised there would be updates to fix it. So far I've installed 2 updates and it's still not working.......
I have the same problem with my HTC touch everytime my phone loses service for a few hours the touch screen no longer works but they keep telling me that I have water damage so just because the indicator is pink (its in a stupid place anyways) I have had to pay for three phones and I got one free
I found a solution for the LG KU990 Viewty touchscreen not responding problem. After thinking about twisting my phone, I came up with another solution which actually works every time. The touchscreen works via layers of plastic that when contact is made, a signal is triggered from the coordinates of the contact. However, when the phone has pressure, these layers of plastic stick together somehow. So, to fix it.... Get a small strip of adhesive tape that will not leave a sticky residue on your screen. Apply that tape in several spots on the surface of the screen, and lift it away from the phone with light pressure. Repeat this in several areas of the screen. That's it. You're done. Your screen should function properly. Simply recalibrate the touchscreen at this point in your settings menu. I hope it helps everyone with any type of touchscreen. I know it helped me. The touchscreen phones are totally useless using only the hard keys!
Try soft reseting your phone. If that doesnt work then try hard reseting. To soft reset take the stylus pen and push in the little hole on the bottom of the phone. You should feel a little click and then your phone will restart. Wait until your phone starts up again and if it still isnt working then do a hard reset.
To hard reset, hold down the green send button and the red end call button at the same time and continue to hold them down as you then push your stylus pen into the hole on the bottom of the phone untill you feel the little click. Your phone should start to reset. Be warned you will loose any information saved to the phones memory ie: phone numbers, pictures, personal settings. Anything saved to your memory card should be ok.
If your screen remains blank after trying both resets I would suggest taking it back to where you got it and and have them fix it or replace it.
Hope this is helpful.
There are 2 things you have to check for.
The touch screen was changed in the middle of production run. The flexible connector & the corresponding socket on the main board were inverted. In other words the exposed track side was moved from upper to lower side. The older type of touch scrteen is no longer available. Casio made the socket available to their service centre to change in on the main board to suit the newer type of touch screen.
If this is the case you will have to get the newer type touch screen to suit the E-115.
The second aspect is that there are 4 self adhesive spacer tapes (approximately 3 mm x 80 mm x 0.5mm thick on the long side & 3 mm x 60 mm x .5 mm on ythe short side) on the periphery of the LCD. This is to keep the touch screen from touching the LCD. This is to prevent Newton's rings as also to prevent malfunction of the touch screen. These are an absolute must.
Other than that the touch screens are absolutely the same.
Hope this helps.
