If you are seeing access points, you need to make sure that you are connecting to them. You will get a message that you are connected. If the AP is secured, there will usually be a symbol that looks like a lock and that means that you have to know the name of the AP and also the secuirty key. You have to know that they are open access points, but be careful connecting to one that isn't a public AP. If it is just one in your area , you are technically "stealing" the connection and there have been some cases where people have been charged with theft for using an AP they weren't authorized to use.

The Dell Latitude E6400 laptop comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor for fast computing and an NVIDIA graphics card for video playback, gaming and Web browsing. The laptop has a built in Wi-Fi card, letting you connect to the Internet on-the-go. However, if you're unfamiliar with Dell or the laptop's factory installed Windows Vista operating system, you might not know how to enable to Wi-Fi.

Slide the switch on the side of the laptop toward the front of the laptop. This switch enables Wi-Fi connectivity on the Dell Latitude E6400. When switched into the back position, the Wi-Fi is turned off. Turn on your Dell Latitude E6400 laptop and log into Windows Vista. Click on the Windows "Start" button. Click on "Wireless," located in the Start menu's "Show" list. A list of currently broadcasting wireless networks appears on screen. With your Wi-Fi enabled, you can connect to any of these available networks. Secured networks ask you for a password when you click "Connect," while unsecured networks connect automatically.

How can i get Network drivers for windows 2003 server on Dell studio 15 laptop

Hello
first you need to share it from the server example d:\data
then you need make a connection to your srever from your dell.
example
If the servername is "BOSS" then you should click start run and write \\boss on your dell computer.

If the server and dell is on the same net it gonna popup a window.
right click on the "DATA" catalogue and "map network drive" use a letter example Z: and mark the square reconnect when windows start or something like that. then you gonna find this on your "My computer"
