This page may help.  One of the things it's supposed to help with is 'cartridge error'.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00094661&dlc=en&product=374581

If that doesn't help, can you provide more detail about the cartridge error message?

What is HP E709n general printer error -0x61011be9?

Remove the ink cartiage and also the print head and reset the printer and then have the ink cartiage and the pinhead being reinserted again. Or the pinhead needs to be replaced and the ink cartiage also needs to be replaced and look for any paper being stuck inside of your printer too and remove any paper jams.

At any time, DO NOT wipe the actual print head with your fingers. Use ONLY water.

-Remove print head assembly from printer.
-Remove ink tanks.
-Use running warm water, wash away the exess ink that is dried around the print head.
-Take one disposable mug, fill with hot water, drop the print head assembly in there, and let it soak for an hour, or so.
(-IF you have massaging shower head, with spray jet -function, use this to deep clean the actual print head.)
-Dry it up carefully, do not wipe actual print head, just tap gently with soft paper.
-Install ink tanks, install assembly to printer, let it settle for some time (5-30 minutes)
-Run Nozzle check, cleaning, print head alignment

Not responding to PC instructions to print data

Hi,

You need to load the PRINTED ALIGNMENT PAGE on the scanner glass, then press on "OK" button. It should start scanning the alignment page. That way, you are completing the PROCESS of ALIGNMENT.

Thank you so much.
