Monitor Black Outs

I have had this monitor for over a year now and today it has been blacking out every few minutes also. When it blacks out, the monitor lights showing it's status (eg Green for ON) are not displayed. After a few seconds it will come on again. I have tried switching the AC wires but this hasnt worked. Also, instead pushing the front ON button, the screen only comes on by pressing the side -/- buttons.Any ideas on the problem?

Why does screen go black after a few seconds

Hope this helps.... Your monitor has an inverter issue. You know it's an inverter problem when:
1. Your monitor starts normally and displays the startup/desktop screen for a while.
2. Then it suddenly goes off, leaving a blank (black) screen or a very dim display.

To fix this black screen problem, change the inverter board (based on your monitor brand).

The monitors inverter seems to be failing. If you look up close, can you see a very faint image of the desktop?

You should think about getting a new monitor it might be cheaper than repairing.

SCREEN TURNS OFF AND GOES BLACK

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is faulty or bad, since it goes black after few minutes, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board or any service center because the fault is not something you can fix yourself. in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Frequent 'black-outs'

nice meeting u pmulory ,first of all if your monitor is LCD its may be problem in mother board so please check it once and if it is CRT keep the monitor away from magnetic items and high electrical items like woofer, speakers,UPS etc due to that problem will occur ,yet your problem is not solved its better to change the monitor.
