Hi welcome to fixya! what particular system you are installing, is it XP sp1, XP sp2, or Vista? Configure first the CMOS before doing the the OS installation. Set everything to its default configuration before running the process. 256 MB of memory for Vista is not enough it is good only for XP sp1 or sp2. See to it that your HDD was properly connected and its not loosen. If still the problem persist, change the ATA HDD cable (it looks like a ribbon in color gray) into a brand new one, sometimes its one of the cause of hang-ups and change your CMOS battery also. If still you experience hang-ups feel free to ask a help from a service center near you. Good Day!

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://in.asus.com/Search.aspx?SearchKey=P5GC-MX/1333
and click the "download" button, to get the device-drivers for your motherboard.
Burn the files to a CD-R disk.

Cost of game hardware in india

2GB RAM should be about $100, the same for installation. Your current graphics card meets the specs you provided. An upgraded video card will be about $200 for one that will work, $300 for one that will work well.

Mother board - amd to be repaired

If it was under 3 years
then AMD- Asus / Gigabyte /MSI motherboards comes under warranty of three years.

Whats the brand of the Motherboard Asus / Gigabyte?
(when u switch on the PC on right side of the Screen u can read the name of the Manufacturer)

Asus Service Centre is at lamington Road, Mumbai
Gigabyte Service Centre at Kalina, Mumbai

You can approach Service center for the particular Vendor and get the board repaired. (As it is out of warranty, otherwise you cud have got the replacement)
However, they will take approximately 8 days time. :(

Please post the model number of you're Gigabyte board. This is key in order to answer you're question. The model number can be found on the board, if not written in bold white lettering on the board it will be found on one of the PCI (white) slots.

Upgrade P5RD1-VM motherboard to the gaming PC

Your pc is not for gaming right now because you are using Intel Pentuim 4 Mother board and CPU. Amd Athlon is best for gaming. I have a AMD Athlon 4200+ X2 with 4gb Ram and Nvidia 6800 256mb OC. to upgrade your computer to a gaming pc. you will need to switch your motherboard and cpu for best performance on games. in order to do that, you might need a different case for your new motherboard. because the one you have might not be right for the AMD Athlon motherboard unless you have a custom made computer. other than that everything is set for you. if you have less than 1gb ram you might want to add more. because the games they are coming with right now is 1gb minimum or required.

i hope that answers your question.
Thank You

Problem in viewing Videos

The problem could be the memory. The video file is using up all the system resources. Maybe upgrading to 1gb of ram will help.
