NEC NHD-2000 HD Receiver - no power

Hi

My NEC NHD-2000 HD Receiver stopped working today. Simply has no power. No time, no standby and will not turn on. Have tested the power source and it looks fine.

Any ideas?

TEN TO A PENNY THE REGULATING IC WITHIN THE PRIMARY SUPPLY HAS BLOWN AND IF THAT IS SO THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR IT. I AM TRYING TO FIND THE CIRCUIT FOR IT SO I CAN FIND ALTERNATIVE SO I CAN FIX MY OWN.
BUT OTHERWISE BUY A NEW ONE THE CHEAPEST YOU CAN FIND JUST AS GOOD AS THE EXPENSIVE ONES

Drv automatically try to cut off due to inactivity even though I'm watching tv

Hi, I would be happy to assist you with your issue. DISH receivers are equipped with an "Inactivity Standby" feature which will place the receiver in a standby mode if the remote is not used in specified amount of time. The receiver does allow you to set the amount of time or if you would like, you can disable the feature. This can be accessed by pressing the Menu button on the DISH remote and then select "Preferences" and then "Updates". If you are still having issues and need additional assistance, please feel free to PM DISH directly on facebook here: http://goo.gl/dgbNL Thank you!

My dish 811 receiver won't download guide info. Do I need to reset and how?

Pull the smart card out of the unit and turn the unit off. then turn it back on and replace the card. this should reset the unit. It will take a minut or so for the unit to read the card and aquire a sat signal. If this does not work, simply call Dish network and they can walk you through any other options.

Dvr recording pauses occasionally (for about 30 seconds) and freezes (which requires a reset or unplug).

Hi! I will be more than glad to assist you in this concern. If your directtv hdtv receiver occasionaly pauses for 30 seconds and freeze and the only troublshooting steps that you do is to press the power button for 10secs or unplug the power-hard reset for 15secs. please do this steps
1. check if the software version of your receiver is updated, how to? got to the sysinfo of your receiver by pressing the sysinfo button on your remote or front panel of the hd receiver, write down on a piece of paper the version, then exit the sysinfo, run a check switch test, you need to access the menu of your receiver, once your done with the check switch and test.. turn off the power of your receiver by pressing the power button on the remote, make sure that there are no lights lit so that the satelite will automatically download the software if its outdated and if nothing happen it means that your software is updated. after all the steps that you did, by running the check switch and test.. still problem exist.. call the directtv tech support for the replacement of your hd dvr receiver, this is a dvr lost of function. I have experience that symptoms on my hd dvr receiver as well with one of the sat provider..

note: if you cant run the check switch and test, please call the direct tv tech support for assistance.
please feel free to get in touch if you have any query..

Clicking as soon as plug in

I found this on another forum - testing it now expect something in several hours Praise th' lawd for this forum!!! I bought my ts360 from a neighbor on craigslist (he even gave me all the extra stuff I didn't need: standard rec., dish, mounts, rf remote and sensor, etc...anybody need any of these things?) so I could use strictly as an OTA receiver. After taking my time hooking up all the connections (suuucks), then plugging in the receiver only to hear the constant, loud clicking sound, I knew it was over. But being as stubborn as I am, I researched the prob Google-style and prayed that there was a solution. Sure enough, after reading and re-reading these posts (a godsend!), I had a plan. When I had time, I plugged the receiver into an outlet and let it tick away (in my office!) After about 2 hours, the clicking slowed, becoming unsteady. I thought it would kill over with no response. It stopped, then 'voila'!!! It came to life; went into standby mode. I pressed the standby button, then I saw the dreaded "boot fail" on the display. Noooo! When I had time later, I researched that problem. Found some entries (thanks, Google! (another godsend)) and answers to solve it. Got the receiver home, plugged it in (this time it only took 15 minutes to stop the clicking sound, got the "boot fail" message, then selected 'no dish' from the menu; receiver reset, then all is good!!! In a nutshell (for others with the same problem), I: made my connections (dvi cable, audio cables) Plugged the receiver into the outlet (didn't have to connect phone line or dish!!) Waited until the ticking stopped See the "boot fail" message on the display On the tv screen, tells you to press 'select' Press 'select', then, at 'dish type', select 'No Dish' Receiver tells you it will reset for the changes to take effect After it powers on, it's all good. You may have to do a OTA antenna scan on yours. The guy I bought mine from already had the local channels in memory. Pretty much the same scenario as Wingryder, and like Sprocto4 said, the initial problem (the clicking sound for eternity) is due to a "lack of power up." This forum saved my ts360 from the junkyard. That night I stayed up late to watch all the hd I could.
