Hi,
Do you mean the touchpad or a USB mouse? if its a usb mouse try another usb port, is it wireless? if its wireless check the battery.
if its the touchpad it may be turned off, to turn it on hold down the blue FN button and look at the F1 to F12 keys, one of them has a touchpad icon and it will disable and enable the touch pad, don't worry if your not sure try them all if you wish. You will probably learn something new while your doing it :-)

You should not have any reason for turning it off except if you have a mouse connected. If you have a mouse connected and you turn the touchpad off, the mouse is now your primary device until the next restart. Technically you are suppose to use one or the other not both at the same time.

Are they wireless or wired mice? Also try a different port. If using USB, try the PS/2 (adapter may be necessary )

Your acer bettery is the problem. I had the same problem just go to this website www.acerbatteryrecall.com/AcerWeb and fill out the form and they will send you a battery for free. In the mean time if you want to use your acer laptop just take out the battery and use only with the wall cord, you wont have any problems......you can thank me by sending me a myspace message at myspace.com/j_hambino
