Can you take the side panel off the pc, the one on the left when pc is viewed from the front.Look for the usb header where the front panel cables from the usb ports plug into. See if the plug is on, loose, try pulling it off to refit and check, come back to me and let me know if you need more help.

Digital media manager with t6426

Which operating system ?

What happens when you tried to plug-in SD card to the computer?

Have you made any recent changes to the computer prior to the issue?

To make the SDHC be recognized by the computer, we need to ensure that the card reader works in Windows 7 first. Please check if the card reader is recognized properly by the computer and you have installed the driver for it.

Meanwhile, you can plug some other storage cards to the card reader and see how it works.

I would suggest you to refer the link below
A Secure Digital (SD) card may not be recognized on a Windows 7 based computer.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981642

Uninstall all the Generic USB drivers and reinstall.

1. Open Device Manager.

2. In "Disk Drives" dropdown, uninstall the "Generic SD/MMC USB device" drive.

3. Restart computer.

4. Insert SDHC card.

Hope this helps.

E Machine T3985 has stopped recognizing cameras that it did before

Try using a different USB plug in on your laptop. It's possible you shorted out the one you are using.

Your right on the money. What your referring to is damage or dislodged cable. Even quite possible damage due to mishandling or static electricity. Most Best Buys will be able to take a peek inside and tell you.

T5082 CF reader problem

If your comfortable opening the case, I would try disconnecting the reader from the mother board, and then reconnecting it. Sometime reseating the connections will fix it. Usually however the hardware is bad. If this is the case, you can get a replacement here
http://www.skyline-eng.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6082 IT's a little pricey though, may want to watch for the part number on Ebay.

Hi, i was wondering how to burn dvd's on my emachine t3985? when i bought the computer the owners manual or users guide never showed me how to burn them. also, my digital media manager and my usb ports...

A dvd is burned the same way you burn a cd. Gather the data you wish to burn, then open your software, drag the data in there and press the burn button. Often you will find Nero or Roxio software installed on your machine, you can also use Windows Media Player.
