Compaq 7550 screen issues

My screen has suddenly started to do odd things.

After it has been turned on for awhile it slowly starts to get larger from left to right seeminly stretching till it suddenly flicks off then flicks back on the start the whole process again. When the monitor is turned off for awhile it stops doing it before starting again after around 20 minutes, any suggestions or am I off shopping?

Your monitor is having thermal problems. Some part in the horizontal circuit is changing value as it warms up, and you're seeing the effect. It's possible to troubleshoot this kind of problem by using spray chiller to cool down parts and find the culprit, but labor and parts would probably mean you're better off just replacing it. New LCD's are quite cheap today, and you'll gain extra space on your desk if you get one.

I have a 2011 honda civic and ever since the battery in the key went dead it has had issues with starting it will turn over slowly then all of a sudden it starts iv had the battery checked good

not sure if the chip in the key needs some residual charge to retain data? If it does might be that some data was lost but this would not explain why the vehicle starts sometimes and sometimes does not

It might be that you have trouble with the car's main battery?
Does the starter always crank slowly?

sounds a little odd

A call to your local Honda dealer's garage/technical department might get you a better answer than you find here. I speak as a Honda owner of some years

Hi we have a compaq 7550 screen that when turned on has a red sheen over the whole screen. Any solutions or is it ready to throw away. thanks

You may try messing with the settings on the monitor. The menu buttons are usually on the front. Try to find something that deals with the color tones of the monitor. If messing with these settings doesn't fix your problem, then unfortunately, it is probably time to throw it out.

I have compaq 7550 computer and my screen was to bright so i started trying to fix it well i messed it up real bad it douesnt fit my screen now plus it flickers now what do i do

RMB click on the desktop and select properties from the drop down menu.

LMB click on the "Settings" tab.

Select "True colour"

Move the slider to read 1024 X 768.

Change the refresh rate to 50Hz.

This should get you back on an even keel, you should then be able to fine tune the settings to what you prefer.

Smells like a virus.

Boot in safe mode and run a comprehensive system scan.
Download HijackThis from trendmicro and run to weed out any virus that starts automatically.

If all else fails do a system restore to before this issue started.

The screen suddenly is orangey: compaq FS75550 using XP and Foxfire browser

You may want to make sure all the pins on the VGA cable are OK, look for that first, if it is still the same then try it on another PC.

Screen on 7550 is upside down

there is a Windows XP setting to invert the picture (I guess it is if you hang the CRT upside down from the ceiling). I don't remember the key presses needed, but check under Properties for the CRT

White Screen

Safe mode it works forever?

Try reseting your video settings.
Right click the desktop
Go to properties
Click the settings tab
Choose your optimum resolution 600x800 and 1024x768 are most common. Unless you have a wide screen.

If that doesnt help try disabling programs that start with the pc. However unlikley it may see, if everything works fine in safe mode, it must be related.

Start > Run > Msconfig
Click the start up tab.
Click "Disable All"
reboot

How does it work now?
