Question about Hotpoint Washing Machines
I've got a Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 Washer Dryer with a problem drying. After the spin everything is as dry as you'd expect, but when I then try drying it seems to get wetter.... in fact it comes out steaming !! so it's still getting hot & therefore the heating/drying elements are ok. I've checked/cleaned the outlet pipes/hoses so think they're ok. Could it be the waste water pump ? Any easy way to check before I replace ? It can only be a temporary issue as it seems to drain ok during the wash cycle.
Hi, I think the problem you have is with the cold water inlet valve? When your machine dries it uses a small amount of water at high pressure through a restricter fitted in the water inlet valve. These break down letting in to much water which cannot evaporate quick enough for it to pump out causing the washing to become wetter than after the wash/spin cycle. The only way of solving this is to replace th tree way water inlet valve. But make sure that the pump is working ok first and that there is nothing in the sump hose trap which is located underneath the washing machine out the bottom of the tub.
