Maytag MCD2257KES ice maker shoot door does not open
Everything works. The water flows, the ice maker makes ice and stops when needed... but the door will not open for individual ice. Is there an actuator for the ice door (flap) to open for single slices? It just dumps until I release and then 32 OZ of ice pours out.

According to your user's manual, "If water flow to the ice maker or dispenser decidedly decreases or if an objectionable taste or
odor returns, change the filter sooner than
"Leave the refrigerator door open while removing and installing filters or plugs; this will prevent water
from flowing through the system and running into
the fresh food compartment.

Change the=> 67006531 Water Inlet Valve I believe the side of your 67006531 Water Inlet Valve that controls water flow to the ice maker has weakened and cannot open properly. Replace the water valves and I believe the ice maker will work fine, Sea Breeze
If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.
Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned
off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the
ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the
raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply
lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.
you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is
in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be
between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the
ice maker may not produce any ice.
Check your door seals and thermostat,
repair/replace as necessary.
The flow of water is controlled by a solenoid. Thus magnetic -- rather electromagnet which mones the vale from open & close, both in the ice-maker & the water dispenser. Thus the valve which is activated when door closes, must have lost its earlier condition and must be making an irritable buzz whenever its on. Simply get the Valve assembly replaced, preferably from their authorized service center closest to your place of residence.
Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in
it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let
it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then
try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell
you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
This has happened to me a couple of times. First check to see if water is dripping from the water line on the back of the freezer. If it is that means ice has formed at the intake on the back of the ice maker and isn't allowing water to get in. Pull everything out and defrost the freezer for 3 - 4 hours. Make sure you dry everything out before putting the food back in.
If there is a reset button on your ice maker try pushing it. Many ice makers have two holes for reset. A general rule of thumb is if the ice maker fingers are stopped in a slightly vertical position then your ice maker unit is working. If the fingers are stopped anywhere else then it needs some sort of attention or replaced. Make sure there is water, or ice in the ice maker tray, if not then the problem is with water supply.
