This may seem simplistic, but have you tried replacing the batteries first? It really quickly drains batteries and what you are describing sounds consistent with low batteries.

Why isent the flash working

Replace the batteries in the Kid-Tough camera with 4 new AAA batteries. This step should be performed if the flash is not working or takes a long time to recharge.

The batteries are used up in no time. We are

The only thing I can recommend with this camera is to purchase high life rechargeable batteries. It is a pain because you will need to unscrew the battery compartment every time to change them, but it will help keep cost down.

It sounds like your rechargable batteries might be bad.
Try a new set of batteries. It might be a cheap fix.

Fisher price kid tough camera shows red-yellow-green light icon with an arrow on the red. Also the flash icon (lightning bolt) is showing in the bottom left of the screen. Emptied memory and changed...

We had the exact same problem. We transferred the photos off of the camera and then it went away. So possibly it is a memory full error or a card read error. I am not sure but the transfer solved the issue.

Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Camera won't stay on

digital cameras have always "eaten" batteries. tho there may be an internal defect in the camera i would suggest purchasing a good set of rechargale batteries and charger for them.

The camera has to plugged into a usb 1.1 port, it will not work with a usb 2.0 port. Try using the additional usb ports on a monitor or keyboard. Otherwise you will need to use a usb 1.1 Hub.
