easy, one of the cables int the back of the xbox is unplugged, that is only if the red ring is flashing.

You have to take the xbox apart open the dvd/cd rome and clean the eye and the disk spinner then put it back together and it should work fine

Unplug everything except the power cable and put the xbox on a towel and put another towel on top try to cover the whole thing. turn it on and let it over heat for about 30 minutes. take the towels off and let it cool down for about 15 minutes. plug it back in and dominate!!

orange and Red flashing is probably overheating of the Graphics processor, if you're up to it get some TOrx screw drivers open it up, clean out the dust, or if that doesn't work open the Nvidia heatsink (metal grill), add some thermal grease neatly and put it all back together.

I am currently trying to replace the dvd drive on an original xbox, i used a jumper to leach power from the hard disk and got a red ring, the dvd power is a strange jumper i have never seen before soo i think it is iether a power or dvd isue. the big button also doesnt eject the tray when i press to turn on.

Try to let it cool down if it's overheated, but if it isn't overheated, try replacing the motherboard. If none of this works, then your Xbox is done for.
