just also thought, there is another one that you can use with AVG and it is called spybot - Search and Destroy and working with AVG your computer is protected from pretty much every infection out there.

Here is the link to there home site, check it out:

You can use many other antivirus programs that are free. AVG has a good antivirus program, you can use it in conjunction with Malwarebyte's Anti-malware scanning software.

Here are links for them:

Which is the latest anti virus software?

Any decent anti-virus program will be continually updated to keep up with virus developments. Which one you go for is mostly a matter of preference. If you're looking for free software, I highly recommend AVG free, which is, in my experience, one of the best freeware anti-virus suites.

If you're looking to buy some software, then Bit Defender and Kaspersky are two of the highest rated antivirus suites of 2011. This site here has some good comparisons and a little buyers' guide to help you choose the best software for your needs.

I hope this helps!

How to down load anti virus?

Hello,

If you have the disc, insert it and just follow the onscreen instructions. Once it asks for the product key, get the cd casing and look for the product key there. Type it in and it should finish the installation.

However, if you don't have any CD. You can either download free anti-virus or purchase from the internet. Here are three of the anti-virus that I know. They are proven and tested to be of high quality. Just take a look at their websites to download the software from there. It's up for you to decide which one you would like to download. Remember, to install only one anti-virus in your computer to avoid problems. Just click on the list below to be directed to the site.

1. AVG Free Edition for Windows

2. Avira AntiVir Personal for Windows

3. Avast Home Edition for Windows

I hope this helps. Thank you for using fixya.

Antivirus

Antivirus is basically a protection against viruses....

Basically it protects your pc from worms, trojans and viruses...

A computer worm is a self-replicating computer program. It uses a network to send copies of itself to other nodes (computerterminals on the network) and it may do so without any userintervention.

A Trojan horse, also known as a trojan, is a piece of malware which appears to perform a certain action but in fact performs many different forms of codes.

A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without permission or knowledge of the user.

First thing to do is to download and run a decent anti-virus and anti-spyware program. The best free ones at the moment are AVGfree and AVGAS which are available for download from; http://www.free.grisoft.com/ Download the 2 programs, install them, update them, and then run a full system scan - first with the anti-virus then with the anti-spyware program. Hopefully they will find and deal with your trojan. Please ask again if you need more info, the AVG programs are very clear and simple to use :)
